HypnoBirthing® – The Mongan Method – is a unique method of relaxed, natural childbirth education, for achieving a safer, easier more comfortable birthing. It teaches you, and your partner to birth your baby in a safe, calm and peaceful way just as nature intended. Through a very simple programme of self-hypnosis, you will learn relaxation techniques to eliminate fear, tension and pain so that you can achieve a calm, serene and comfortable birthing experience. The HypnoBirthing® method teaches you that in the absence of fear and tension, severe pain does not have to be an accompaniment of labour. During the process you will not be in a trance or asleep. What you will experience is similar to daydreaming or when simply absorbed in a good book or film. It is a state of focussed concentration that enables you to block out the pain. You will be fully aware and in good spirits…totally relaxed, but fully in control. You will be aware of your body’s contractions and your baby’s progress; but because you will be completely relaxed, you will be able to control the degree and the manner in which you will experience the surges. You will experience the birthing in an atmosphere of calm relaxation, drawing on your body’s natural endorphins to eliminate discomfort and the need for medication achieving a beautiful, peaceful experience naturally.

The ideal time to start your HypnoBirthing® classes is after 26 weeks and preferably before 34 weeks.
All HypnoBirthing® classes run for a period of five weeks approximately 2 hours each week and are held in private or group classes.
